Henna

Hello dear ones!!

My girls were invited for a friends Indian wedding. Since usually women have Henna designs painted on their hands, I designed these for my girls. :)
Henna has been used since 3000 BC because it cooled the skin, and then turned into elaborate body art, though not certain when exactly. It is used for great celebrations and parties.

This isnt something I do often, so they are not perfect, but I did try to make it all even. Thankfully traditional Indian dress is not necessary. :)

Coming back form my dentist I dropped into a vintage market and found these beautiful pearls and a fantastic gold cross with a pearl from 1904! I wonder who used it and what it was given for, how much happiness and sadness did that little cross hear.

Thank you all for your sweet comments and visiting me. Hello to all new souls! :)

Witam Was!

Wracajac od dentysty wpadlam do vintage market i tam znalazlam rozane perelki i cudny zloty krzyzyk z perelka z roku 1904!Ciekawam komu sluzyl, kto go nosil i wielbil, ile to wysluchal radosci i smutkow.
Dziekuje za mile komentarze i odwiedzinki , witam serdecznie nowe duszyczki:)

I love your treasures, and I too agree....wonder about all that the little cross has heard in it's journey....

WOW!!! Katherine the henna designs are fabulous! I agree with Karen-you're MUCH too modest!

And your finds are wonderful. Yes, if our finds could talk-what stories they could tell us.

Big hugs,

Hi Katherine,
WOW I love the henna designs you created. What a talent you are. This is so inspiring to me and I am in awe. I have seen this artform before but did not know anyone in blogland who could create it too. Gorgeous.

I love the pearls and the cross. When you said 1904 it really intriqued me as this was the year ny grandmother was born in Naples, Italy.
Lovely post and thank you for sharing.
Have a special day.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
