Christmas glass

Hello dear people!

I see wonderful hand made decorations on every blog I visit - lovely Christmas baubles and fabulous other things! I unfortunately will not have lots of time to do many since two lovely ladies asked me to make 200 of my lace ornaments! :) As every year, my tree is decorated a bit differently and this year I wont have that time so it'll be lights and pine cones. In Poland, at my grandmothers forest house which I visited for Christmas, this was how it was decorated, natural and lovely.
I only made a few things and transformed some old ornaments to look like mercury glass. Easy peasy too, because all you need is a porous sponge and some acrylic paint (in my case, in gold and silver) We gently dip the sponge, making sure its dryish and dab at the ornament until the desired effect is created. Also, you can later wash it off, if you wish. :)
My girls made a bottlecap snowman and he turned out sweet!
I made a heart in a nest, the idea of which I stole off a storefront decoration I saw and fell in love with, so decided to make one myself.
I also found an old thread spool in a store, just one but its so big!:)

And to all my American friends, I wish you a most beautiful and loving Thanksgiving to you and your families! Thank you for being here. :)

Thank you so much dear friends, for stopping by and leaving sweet comments! I wish you all a great week!

Witajcie duszyczki mile!
Moje dziewczynki zrobily mi balwanka z kapsli calkiem fajny wyszedl.
Zycze wszystkim najpiekniejszego tygodnia!

Wow! You will be busy! I would LOVE to do an all-natural vintage tree, but I don't think hubby will go for it... So perhaps a smaller one in my studio; IF I can find room that is!

LOVE the huge spool! And of course your lovely decorations! Have a wonderful week too!

Actually, I love the idea of the natural tree with pine cones. Anything you create, no matter how simple, will always have your love and style wrapped around it. So it cannot help but be beautiful. Dear Katherine ~
Your heart in the nest is so very precious, I can see why you wanted to duplicate it! Aren't your girls clever with their darling snowman? These are terrific. I've seen a lot of faux mercury glass, and I have to say your technique is so realistic and easy. Thank you for sharing with us, and best of luck on completing that ornament order. I'm so happy for you!
