pink snow and silk

Hello Dear ones!
After the spring temperatures finally some snow and frost comes to Toronto Theyre saying it'll be cold, -18 + wind chill, so about -25! I love it when theres white out and snow is falling all around. Its also fabulous when the snow that falls is pink! That's calls watermelon snow and it even smells like watermelons, when you step on it it just turns a darker shade. These natures treasures are thanks to Chlamydomonas nivalis, and usually you see it on mountains in California, but it could fall around anywhere and it soooo pretty! And how can you not love winter?

I  saw these gorgeous lace snowflakes from doilies at a store and they were in embroidery hoops. I made some to show you guys, so sweet! Too bad Christmas is done and so it doesnt match as much as it would have, but the idea is fab!
While hunting at textile stores, I managed to find some lovely silk, satin and chiffon scarves and they were embroidered with lovely thread, beads and pearls. Im so happy with them though I have no idea what I'll make. And I managed to find a lovely lace hankie from 1890.
Take a look at this sweet Victorian home in winter, isnt it dreamy? I would love that!
Ok, I think I've done enough bragging. =)
Thank you all for visiting  and hello to all new dearies!
I wish you all a wonderful week, health and smiles!

Witam Was!
Moje  marzenie
No to sie nachwalilam =)
Dziekuje wszystkim za odwiedziny i cieple slowa!Witam wszystkie nowe duszyczki !
Pieknego tygodnia ,pieknej zimy ,zdrowka i usmiechu!

Hello Katherine:
Gosh the idea of pink snow falling all around sounds incredibly enchanting. We have never witnessed such a thing and are sure that it is quite a sight to behold.

And, what a delicate array of beautiful things you delight us with here. They look terribly fragile, just as the snowflakes themselves!

Pomysł z szydełkowymi serwetkami bardzo ciekawy i godny zapamiętania. Wrzucę sobie Twoją fotkę z nimi (jeśli pozwolisz, Kasiu)do mojego folderu z "ulubionymi pomysłami".
A dom jak z bajki, piękna robota. Już słyszę tę skrzypiącą w nim podłogę, cudo:))))

Pozdrawiam - zasypana śniegiem i otulona mrozem

I have never heard of pink snow, but would love to see it! We get a lot of snow here in Michigan, but never pink.
Your fabrics are beautiful! and the hankie is so pretty. I love fabrics. Unfortunately, I am not talented to make something out of it, so I just like to look and touch and admire pretty fabric.

Katherine,
The doilies are so sweet - you made them?? How very talented you are. I love the little rose on the hanky. It looks so old, like something our grandmas would make. The Victorian house looks like a magical wonderland covered in snow.

I too have never heard of pink snow! Over here in frigid Manitoba, we are getting more of the regular white stuff, along with horribly frigid temps of minus 40 with the windchill... Yikes. Those hankies and doilies are beautiful! And that house looks amazing! Take care, stay warm!

Always such a delight when I come to visit. Pink snow? There really is such a thing? I will be dreaming of it all night. I only know about yellow snow. lol! It's one color of snow you don't want to eat. Love the lace hoops and all the sweet things. I have a scarf very similar to the square one. Oh, and how about that house all dressed in Winter delight? We had rain today on top of our freezing snow and the result has been terrible black ice. Have not had that problem in years. Pink snow, Awwww!
hugs,
Jann

Hello Katherine
Just looking at your amazing images of pink snow! Never seen such a thing - in fact never even see white snow where we are living.
In fact, quite the opposite - we had a huge bush fire just 300 metres from our home a week ago and it was so scary!!! But we came out all safe and sound after much hard work in protecting our home.

Love that amazing hankey and that embroidered chiffon scarf is gorgeous just the same as the one I found a while ago which I incorporated into a couple of my fabric journals!
Enjoy your snow!
Hugs from here,
Suzy
